Breathe ~ Relax ~ Feel ~ Watch ~ Allow

Hi all,
Here's my reflections on the second meditation class: I found the second class as helpful as the first and I also liked that it was a little different, too. The reason why I wanted to attend again was that although I do little, mini-meditations every day (15 minutes), I found that in the first class the meditation felt familiar but calmer, so friendly and warm. The second class proved to be the same. I was more comfortable as soon as we began our meditation and found that my mind wandered much less than when on my own. I find this very interesting. I also enjoyed some of the tips that were mentioned.

Although I try to have no expectations with my meditation I am finding that in tiny steps, I am remembering to rely on my breathing when it's needed (is that the same as meditation? I don't think so, but the calming of my breath is the same, familiar comfort). I usually feel many missed opportunities in a typical day but sometimes when I'm aware that a situation is making me uncomfortable and it lasts long enough for the thought to dawn on me I focus on my breath and it really helps. Not very often and not until my mind has skittered about for awhile. It's like remembering I have duct tape with me.

Thanks to Jim and Robin for these classes.

Thanks for your observations. Weather or not you are meditating is not as important as the fact that you are noticing, this is awareness. One definition of mindfulness is remembering, which is what you have been doing. Thanks for the opportunity to practice with you, Jim.
